But before that happens, the Marker wants those intelligent beings to build another Marker (or even more) and spread it throughout the universe. It mind-controls and alters DNA so that that life becomes necromorphic. The Marker sends this signal as soon as it is discovered by intelligent life. Seeing the symbols in one's head is sort of an attempt by the Marker to present a communication matrix of its signal and one's own language. It's probably no news to you that the symbols are embedded all over the Marker in the first place. It's been said in the book, it's guessable from the events in DS1, it's been hinted at several times in DS2, and straight-on explained again in DS3 in the logs of one of the scientists. I am explaining only the symbols and small part of the lore below: I totally understand.Īnyway, there's A LOT more to the whole necromorph, Markers, and Convergence thing than just the symbols. But you are definitely not stupid or something. It's really strange, considering what I like about the games are the stories, and even more so because the reasons are strewn all over the games, but well. ![]() I've played each DS like three times or more, and only after like half of these playthroughs and reading the book have I actually understood what the Necromorphs are all about. In what game do you find out the significant reason? Can you put the reason in spoiler tags and tell us here? I played all 3 OG games and the remake, but my memory doesn't last that long, lol. Those who mind RP would never touch it, and those who like more casual approach would have a QoL option. Actually, it would be a nice bit of a thoughtful approach from the remake devs if, say, a future patch presented a keyboard shorcut that would show the translation. Originally posted by Nikanuur:Albeit, as stated before, there is a significant reason as to why it is symbols and not an English alphabet, I can understand you.
